Government: North-west house prices up again

House prices in the north-west grew by more than nine per cent in the 12 months to June, official figures have showed.
According to the Communities and Local Government department, annual house price inflation in the region climbed to 9.1 per cent between May and June.
It brought the average house price in the north-west to £163,032, up from £160,200 in May.
The rise in prices between has been attributed to increases in average prices for apartments (2.4 per cent), bungalows and detached properties (2.3 per cent each), semi-detached homes (1.1 per cent) and terraced houses (1.0 per cent).
Across the country as a whole, house prices grew by an average of 12.1 per cent, compared with 10.8 per cent in May.
According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average Greater Liverpool property price is £127,766.
